WHAT IS IT? The Model MSD is both a motion sensing control as well as a tachometer. This unit consists of 2 parts, a controller/display module and a sensor. The sensor is direct coupled to a rotating shaft and produces a signal for the controller to read. The display has a maximum read of 9999 rpm, and displays to the nearest whole rpm value.
WHY IS IT NECESSARY? The Model MSD commonly provides a means of monitoring the speed on overhead safety chain conveyors and automatically actuates the relay output to engage a braking system or other field connected device. The Model MSD is also commonly used to grain elevator legs to determine if a bucket elevator is being overloaded, resulting is a reduction of rpm.
